Piece description from the artist
This photograph features the ancient town of Gordes in Provence, France. This town is most famous for its having been home to many famous French artists over the centuries. My goal in capturing this view was to show the organization of ancient homes on a rugged hillside, which is in sharp contrast to most urban environments. This photo demonstrates that things that are built upon a strong foundation can last many lifetimes. This city, in its rustic, medieval state, continues to exude a magnetic pull for all people who visit Provence. This village is classic and eternal, qualities that, if continually sought, can reaffirm tradition through modern times.
