Piece description from the artist
This photo captures the underneath of the front steps of the United States Supreme Court Building in Washington, DC. My goal in creating this image was to make a photograph of this iconic structure in a perspective that was different from most other photographers. I walked up the long front staircase, and searched for the most optimal vantage point with my camera pointing upwards. This image became very abstract and the beautiful Corinthian columns are emphasized against the brilliant azure sky. I want the viewer to see something they are already familiar with, but in a way that is more intriguing and out of the ordinary.
