Piece description from the artist
This vibrant summer view is of the famous Claude Monet waterlily garden that lies adjacent to his home in a lush garden in the small town of Giverny, France. I took this photo with my inspiration being from years of art history study in school. Only seeing a photo in a book does not do this place justice. My goal was to create a vibrant, stunning photo of Monet's famous garden by capturing it mid afternoon in perfect even light on a partially overcast day. My desire was to showcase his bow bridge at the end of the photo that was covered in blooming wisteria while still showing the pastel reflections on the water of his azaleas and other flowers.
