Twilight Traffic Over Bill Emerson Bridge

Piece description from the artist

A twilight blue-hour long exposure looking down the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge in Cape Girardeau. Streams of moving headlights and taillights trace glowing lines across the span as traffic travels along Interstate 55 and U.S. Highway 74. The bridge crosses over the Mississippi River, connecting Missouri to East Cape Girardeau, Illinois, on the opposite bank. Completed in 2004, the bridge replaced the original 1929 Cape Girardeau Bridge and is named in honor of Bill Emerson, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 until his passing in 1996. This iconic crossing also gained cinematic recognition when it appeared in the 2014 film Gone Girl.
