Lit Pillar Of Bob Kerrey Bridge

A twilight night view from the middle of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, where I paused and looked up at one of its towering support pillars as the cables stretched upward into the night sky. The city lights and part of the Omaha , Nebraska skyline shimmer in the distance, while I stood on the Council Bluffs side in Council Bluffs, high above the Missouri River below.

This bridge is a unique 3,000-foot pedestrian span that curves gently like a snake across the river, connecting two cities and two states in a striking architectural sweep. During this moment, I captured the lighting transition as it shifted from deep purple and pink tones into warm yellow, adding a subtle rhythm of color to the structure.

One of the most interesting things about this bridge is that it has a slight, noticeable movement, if someone runs, bikes, or scooters across it, you can actually feel it sway just a bit beneath your feet, making the experience feel alive even in the stillness of night.
