Toujours

Piece description from the artist

I rarely paint couples, so I wanted to do something different that represented infinite love, strength and passion. France is one of the most romantic cities in the world, with the Eiffel Tower being a major symbol of love and romance. “Toujours” is the French word for always or forever, so I just felt it made the connection. I wanted to create something that fused elements of the perfect relationship backed by an impenetrable foundation of steel that can weather any storm.

About Otha Davis III

North Hollywood, CA

While working on hit records in the music business has played a driving force in his career, it’s Vakseen’s (born Otha Davis III) passion for the arts that has served as his key to sanity in the fast paced entertainment industry. The self-taught, Floridian has developed a distinct collage- influenced painting style (Vanity Pop) that fuses elements of surrealism, cubism, photorealism and fashion onto canvas. His paintings deal with the theme of personal identity and evolve around society's idolization of beauty, as well as the enhancements women endure to obtain this level of "perfection". His paintings have been featured by major brands like Adidas, Complex, Bombay Sapphire Gin, Juxtapoz and Tupac Shakur’s estate, in addition to being sold to collectors and art enthusiasts worldwide.
