The Old Adobe Mission

The Old Adobe Mission

Piece description from the artist

The Old Adobe Mission in Scottsdale's Old Town, is constructed in the traditional adobe method employed by the Indians and Spanish Missionaries who established missions not only along the California coast but throughout the Southwest, as places of worship, schooling, and protection for the local Indians. It was Scottsdale's first Catholic Church built by Mexican immigrants in 1933 and is open to the public from April through November every year. The original name of the mission was Our Lady of Perpetual Help, now called the The Old Adobe Mission.
