Piece description from the artist
In the ancient town of Sanliurfa, Turkey, birthplace of Abraham, the steep streets are full of wonders for visitors and residents alike. This scene juxtaposes tells us a story of the cycle of life. Bring this story into your home.
Steve Farley took his first photograph with a Kodak Instamatic at the age of six. He has traveled the world ever since, finding engaging imagery everywhere, and bringing it back to us. Steve creates his large-scale photographs by digitally collaging many zoomed-in images to increase detail and reveal changing colors, movement, and angles.
Steve is also the public artist who invented a way to convert photographs into glazed ceramic tile murals using a process called Tilography. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Dallas, Norfolk, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, San Jose, Fort Lauderdale, and many other locations.
