A dynamic low-angle study capturing an abandoned wooden fishing vessel decaying on the shingle beach of Dungeness, Kent. Flaking blue paint, weathered gray timber, exposed copper rivets, and a listing, skeletal wheelhouse frame a story of coastal history and natural decay. Clear blue skies and wispy clouds offer a high-contrast backdrop to the raw, tactile textures of the wooden hull.
From the smallest details of macro to the vast panorama of a landscape, with a quick stop off at many subjects in between, Rick's passion for detail and capturing the moment has inspired him to shoot many different genres. He enjoys traveling to different parts of the world and will take his camera, even on work trips. More recently, he has been practicing creating artistic renditions of his photograph.
