Piece description from the artist
This work fuses two images I took while standing in the same spot, moving only my camera. I took inspiration from the looming tree branches, extending the images even more through folding the photographic paper. This stretching effect mixed with the overlapping images emphasizes the surreal ambience of the forrest.
Linnea Moody is a photographic artist from Kirksville, Missouri and is currently located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She studied at Truman State University to receive her Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2020. Since her graduation she has shown work in many group shows around the country and virtually. Her work centers around her memories and life experiences, the idea of changing perception and photographic experimentation. She is influenced mainly by her surroundings and everyday life, the potential of manipulation throughout the medium of photography and the study of psychology. Linnea alters her photographs through various experimental techniques in the darkroom. Starting with 35mm film she has migrated through a variety of photographic processes in recent years, from Pinhole to TLR cameras. Linnea is always working to break the photographic norm through experimental darkroom manipulations, while simultaneously illustrating her own emotions and experiences through her imagery.
