Piece description from the artist
A black and white, closer, more intimate view of Horseshoe Bend captured in the early morning as blue hour begins to give way to light. From this tighter perspective, the subtle shift in color gently reveals the textures of the canyon walls. This is part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Page, Arizona, USA.
1000 feet below, the Colorado River bends gracefully around the massive sandstone formation, creating the iconic horseshoe-shaped curve. Towering cliffs rise nearly high above the water, their scale and depth becoming even more striking in this closer composition looking downward.
There’s a quiet stillness in this moment, just before the day fully begins, where cool blue tones and soft golden light meet across the canyon. It’s a peaceful, awe-inspiring scene that captures the beauty and grandeur of the Colorado Plateau and one of the most unforgettable views in the American Southwest.
