Glowing in warm shades of yellow and orange, the uniquely designed Farnam Pier lights up the horizon during twilight just before sunrise. I captured this view while standing on the pier, looking between its rib-like beams toward the quiet flow of the Missouri River. A bright star shines in the early morning sky, adding a magical detail to the scene. Located in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, the newly opened 204-foot-long pier, which is part of the revitalized Riverfront area, offers sweeping river views and, when turned around, a stunning look at the Omaha skyline. In the distance, the Missouri River Bridge along Highway 80 is visible through the vibrant clouds, which added a dramatic touch to this October 2023 morning. Farnam Pier officially opened just weeks earlier in September 2023.
