An overcast day in a kelp forest off Catalina Island. I used a fisheye lens to create the sensation of being inside these kelp fronds while peering into the murky water beyond.
For the first four years of his life, before his family decided to make a home in Florida, Montgomery Gilchrist was raised on a sailboat off the coast Central and South America. As an adult, he taught English in Tokyo for two years then subsequently settled in Manhattan. He is a world traveler and maintains a passionate interest in the ways different people live.
