The Siq is a narrow slot canyon that opens up to the ancient city of Petra and its famous "Treasury" facade. I was one of the first people able to enter the site that morning and had time to compose this image.
For the first four years of his life, before his family decided to make a home in Florida, Montgomery Gilchrist was raised on a sailboat off the coast Central and South America. As an adult, he taught English in Tokyo for two years then subsequently settled in Manhattan. He is a world traveler and maintains a passionate interest in the ways different people live.
