Kayaking Majestic Antelope Canyon

A couple of kayakers enjoy a peaceful morning paddling their colorful boats through the towering sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon on Lake Powell near Page, Arizona, United States. The cream, orange, and reddish canyon walls tower above the water, creating a breathtaking natural corridor that feels both intimate and immense.

This water-filled section of Antelope Canyon shows a unique perspective of the famous slot canyon, where narrow passageways and sculpted rock formations can only be experienced by boat or kayak. The warm morning light illuminates the sandstone cliffs, bringing out their rich colors, intricate textures, and flowing contours shaped by water, wind, and weather over time.

Lake Powell was formed following the construction of Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River, and its creation led to the establishment of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in 1972. Managed by the National Park Service, the recreation area encompasses a vast landscape of canyons, cliffs, and waterways. At full pool, Lake Powell covers approximately 161,000 acres, making it one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States.
