This piece is apart of a series called "Iconoclash" that compared the major world religions. This piece is a study of a Radha and Krishna that highlights the two as a couple whose love is cherished just like the Divine Love in Christianity. This divine love is expressed by the couple in the painting has the same universality and same ability to heal the soul as does the love of Jesus for his church. "Divine Love" has many symbols and manifestations.
Rachel Goede is from Omaha, Nebraska, where she started drawing with pens when she was only one year old.
During high school, she started to paint and went to study in Italy as an exchange student. When Rachel came back to the United States, she attended Arizona State University, where she graduated with a degree in Italian and painting in 2008. Today, Rachel is a full-time mom, a full-time marketer, a full-time artist, and a part-time day-dreamer.
She currently works as a gallery attendant in Scottsdale, Arizona where she can be surrounded by art on a daily basis.
