Piece description from the artist
This painting was inspired by the devastating war in Iraq and Afghanistan. When I started to read about the history of the area, the Khyber pass is a land formation of extreme political importance. This pass was a dominant war area, as well as a trade route. Alexander the Great himself traveled through this historic area. The Khyber pass is a historic symbol of conflict between East and West.
