The Virgin of the Rosary

Piece description from the artist

This painting is in my series called "Iconoclash." It is a study of an old world colonial painting of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus, who is dressed like a full-grown man. There is a hidden "Allah" in Arabic script on one of the suns. It is easy to observe the combination of pagan earth symbols and the old world opulence of the Spanish Catholic church in "The Virgin of the Rosary."
