Piece description from the artist
This photograph captures a rustic forest scene featuring the rushing rapids of Greer Spring Branch near Alton, Missouri, USA. Taken on a beautiful autumn afternoon, the warm fall colors frame the country creek as it flows swiftly beneath a towering bluff. A narrow hiking trail winds along the bluff’s edge, offering scenic views of the surrounding woodland. Greer Spring, the second largest natural spring in Missouri, releases an impressive 220 million gallons of crystal-clear water daily. Encompassing 4,100 acres, this pristine area, known as the Greer Spring Special Management Area, is part of the Eleven Point National Scenic River and lies within the Mark Twain National Forest, a haven for nature lovers and photographers alike.
