Bay Point Island, South Carolina. A hour boat ride and a good trek through the island gave me a perfect vista to paint on the isolated island. A nature preserve and barrier island near Hilton Head, South Carolina. The lowcountry untouched by man captured in a painting.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
