Antelope Canyon Rock Reflections

Here's another photograph captured while exploring Antelope Canyon by boat on Lake Powell in Page, Arizona, USA. The calm water gently reflects the tall sandstone walls, creating a beautiful mirror image of the warm cream, orange, and deep red cliffs surrounding this quiet desert inlet. With no boats or kayakers passing through at the time, we had this remarkable corner of the canyon all to ourselves.

I love the hint of emerald green in the water and the incredible layers and textures in the sandstone. The canyon walls lift from the water, revealing flowing patterns and colorful bands that have been shaped over time by water, wind, and the elements. Against the blue sky, the warm tones of the rock glowed even brighter, while the still water added a sense of peace to the entire scene.

This water-filled section of Antelope Canyon is part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, where Lake Powell winds through miles of this canyon. Seeing these massive cliffs from the water offers a completely different perspective than the famous slot canyon hike. It's one of those places that reminds me just how beautiful and diverse the landscapes of the American Southwest truly are.
