Piece description from the artist
A winter landscape created with watercolor and alcohol inks on Ampersand Claybord. This is the view from my front yard at around 5:30pm in late December, North Carolina. I could only see the one bright planet in the dark purple-blue sky. Painting bare winter tree branches seems to be a constant theme in my life.
I've always been an artist and painting is how I express my joy for life. Nature is my inspiration. I'm a prolific creator, with a wide range of mediums and surfaces including: encaustic wax, oil paints, alcohol inks, watercolors, acrylics, textiles, pottery, ceramic decals and glass. I live with my family in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. We have a dog, who makes us a family of 5.
