Piece description from the artist
This afternoon photograph was taken from the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, capturing the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge alongside a rare view of the Trinity River partially frozen below. The bridge’s sweeping white cables rise and twist toward the sky, standing in striking contrast to the still, icy surface of the river. Opened in March 2012 as part of the Trinity River Project, the bridge connects Highway 366 (Woodall Rodgers Freeway) in downtown Dallas to Singleton Boulevard in West Dallas. The frozen river adds an unexpected winter element to this modern Dallas scene, highlighting a quieter, colder moment in one of Texas’s fastest-growing cities.
