Vibrant maple trees bring color and warmth to this vertical forest scene in the Ozarks. Shades of orange, yellow, and green stand out against the soft, overcast light of a gloomy autumn afternoon. Some trees have already shed their leaves, leaving bare branches that add texture and contrast to the peaceful woodland. A blanket of fallen leaves covers the forest floor, completing the quiet beauty of the season. I captured this moment on Kaysinger Bluff in Warsaw, Missouri, United States.
