Piece description from the artist
Standing beneath Gulf State Park Pier in Gulf Shores, Alabama, I captured this unique low angle view of waves crashing against the massive concrete supports. The warm golden hour sunlight casts a beautiful yellow glow across the pillars and sandy shoreline, bringing out the textures of the weathered concrete and shimmering water. Waves from the Gulf of Mexico surge between the supports, adding energy and movement to the scene.
I love how the retreating water leaves a glossy layer across the sand, reflecting the pier's towering structure and creating an interesting interplay of light and shadow. This perspective offers a different way to appreciate the Alabama Gulf Coast, where the power of the ocean meets the impressive structure of this popular fishing pier.
