When White Pocket Turns Blue

Piece description from the artist

White Pocket is one of those landscapes that will genuinely take your breath away, and seeing it during sunset and blue hour makes the experience even more unforgettable. As twilight settled over this otherworldly landscape in Arizona, dramatic clouds moved overhead, transforming the scene into a striking wash of cool blue tones.

I especially love the small pockets of loose sand resting across the sandstone, taking on subtle pink hues in the fading light. Beyond them, the massive rounded formations of White Pocket reflect the cool colors of the evening atmosphere. Normally glowing with shades of cream, orange, white, and red, these remarkable rocks take on an entirely different personality under the twilight sky.

Located near the Utah border within Vermilion Cliffs National Monument on the rugged Paria Plateau, White Pocket is filled with swirling patterns, layered textures, rounded sandstone mounds, and natural formations that seem almost impossible to create. The landscape has an otherworldly quality that makes it feel like standing on another planet, almost like Mars on Earth.

Standing among these incredible formations is an experience that is difficult to describe and impossible to forget.
