Piece description from the artist
I am very interested in expressing the feeling of being alone in the city. I generally shoot alone, and I actually enjoy wandering by myself, studying the architecture and watching city life unfold before me. To me, there is a certain beauty to this experience that I struggle to put into words. I think this image is the closest I have come to expressing that. I am also drawn to late afternoon/evening light, and how it is obscured and affected by different buildings in the city, depending on the time of day. I was immediately struck by the harsh light and shadows in this scene, and then waited for the right person to walk into the frame.
