Piece description from the artist
I love the feel of this picture, it has an old soul to it. It represents San Francisco in days past that I wasn't able to experience. Maybe in the 1960's or 1970's? And given everything in this picture, I'd think this vantage point would look almost exactly like this 50 years ago or more!
Danny Anderson has no formal training in photography, but he makes up for what he lacks in training with a unique perception of the world around him.
From the beginning, Danny's approach was simple; when he photographs a location, Danny attempts to capture not just what it looks like, but what it feels like to be there. In doing so, contrasts, composition, dynamics and drama have become an integral part of his process and consideration while making artwork. Danny is always searching for everyday beauty so he can allow the day-to-day imagery to distract and inspire him. Danny refers to this process as "natural distraction."
Danny currently lives and works in Brentwood, California.
