Vertical abstract pattern of the capital wheel

Vertical abstract pattern of the Capital Wheel

Piece description from the artist

I was strolling around National Harbor at night looking for interesting compositions on a very calm November evening and spotted the striking jagged reflections of the different colored lights on the Capital Wheel in the completely calm waters of the Potomac River. With a half-second exposure, the lights blurred due to the movement of the waters, but this added to the very abstract view of this Ferris Wheel amusement ride at the Harbor near Washington DC. This is a vertical composition slightly stretched to fit the print format

About Steven Heap

Morgantown, WV

Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
