Translation of "Appalachian Spring"

Piece description from the artist

Shany Porras' Translation of Copland's "Appalachian Spring" is a contemporary, geometric abstract painted on cradled wood board with a mixture of mediums. The artist selected media such as acrylic paint, washi tape, paper, and graphite. At 36 × 48 inches, the sizable pair of wood boards provide the space for rigid and blurry lines to dance together vertically in an array of bright colors. All the while, triangles intervene like staccato notes in the Copland piece.

Porras states, "Many of my paintings are translations of orchestral music. For this painting, I translated "Appalachian Spring" to celebrate the rebirth of our nation at the end of a devastating global pandemic. The colors are vibrant and playful and free."

Porras has signed the bottom and includes written details, including a serial number on the back. A certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist, is included once purchased. The two wood panels are wired and ready to hang.
