Piece description from the artist
The night sky came alive above Fellows Lake in Springfield, Missouri, as the Aurora Borealis painted the darkness with vivid streaks of pink, red, green, and purple. The colors drifted and pulsed across the sky, reflecting gently on the quiet lake below and turning an ordinary Missouri night into something extraordinary. The still water mirrored the movement above, creating a peaceful yet powerful scene that felt almost surreal.
This rare display came alive on Oct 10, 2024, when a strong geomagnetic storm, allowed the Northern Lights to reach far beyond their usual range. Standing there, watching the colors dance overhead, was both humbling and unforgettable. Moments like this are fleeting, and witnessing such an intense aurora so far south made the experience feel truly special, one of those rare lifetime nights where the sky completely steals the show.
