When all else fails, look up. This photograph is the result of me not finding a suitable view of the lighthouse we were visiting. I happened to look up and see the curving swirly lines of the metal steps. I had to lay flat on the cold cement floor and twist myself just right to get the angle I wanted. This is one of my favorite pieces from the trip.
Travis Forbear is a portrait photographer by trade, but works as a fine art photographer when ever the chance arrives. Using photographs taken in and around the areas he grew up, Travis blends imagination, childlike curiosity, and the occasional use of textures to create his art.
In 2010 one of Travis' photos, a close up of a snowflake, was featured in "Popular Photography":http://www.popphoto.com/gallery/friday-sep-10. Travis continues to live and work where only the best snowflakes can be found, in Hart, Michigan.
