Modern townhomes in a Georgian style line the waterfront of the Old Town in the historic city of Alexandria. Warm sunset light illuminates the roofs and dances off the surface of the Potomac River in northern Virginia. I particularly liked the warm tones of this image, taken with a telephoto lens from the walkway along the I495 bridge across the Potomac.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
