Whitehorse Mountain seen through rolling clouds and mist from Route 530 in the North Cascades of Washington State. We were driving towards the airport after a fantastic 8 day driving tour of the Cascades Loop and the final day had been cloudy and a little depressing. Then we rounded a bend in the forest and were met with this sight. I quickly stopped, retrieved my camera and captures some images before the clouds closed the scene once more.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
