Piece description from the artist
Above the timberline, Loveland Pass is mostly known as a ski area. I love this area when it is green in the summer, or golden orange in autumn. The lighting on this visit was gorgeous, although fickle, changing within seconds. If you are a landscape photographer in Colorado, you learn quickly that there is not much time to compose a scene because the lighting might not be what you wanted it to be a second before. If I see a scene that I love, I quickly shoot, then go back and compose and wait for the lighting I want and hope I get it!
Barbara has been exposed to art and creativity, her entire life! Her mother was an oil painter and her grandfather, not only an MD, but a talented artist as well. At the age of 16, Barbara found her creative passion looking through the lens of a Canon camera. She has been a photographer from that point on, finding subject matter from the gritty streets of Manhattan, to the alpine environment of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. She feels most at home now, among big horned sheep, moose and mountains of Colorado!
