The still water reflects the reeds on the riverbank and their golden reflections under a beautiful, hazy sky as sunset approaches. This was taken on a riverboat gliding along the Nile River in Egypt with perfectly calm conditions that allows the reeds to create their reflections in the water. The naturally hazy conditions in the desert make for a smooth reflection of the sky.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot.
