Piece description from the artist
This close vertical view of Spasmodic Geyser captures one of its active openings in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. As geothermally heated water boils and bubbles, steam rolls outward from the vent, revealing the intense heat beneath the surface. The surrounding white and yellow mineral deposits, formed by silica and other geothermal minerals, create rich textures that highlight the constant interaction between water, heat, and stone.
Spasmodic Geyser is a lesser-known but fascinating thermal feature in Yellowstone, known for its irregular, energetic bursts and steaming vents. The vivid mineral colors and rugged rock formations give the scene an otherworldly appearance, showcasing the raw volcanic forces that make Yellowstone one of the most geologically active places on Earth.
