Somewhat Dominican is an oil painting on Stretched Canvas. Created after a trip to the Dominican, it was the first time the Artist had ever left the country. It reminded him of another time in his life when he had first ever left the city where he lived.

About Kristopher Lake

Kitty Hawk, NC

Originally from the city of Scranton PA, Kristopher studied at Keystone College and Marywood University with a degree in studio art, specializing in drawing and painting. During this time, he received promising artist awards and had artwork dispalyed in many shows. Kristopher's began his love and skill for art at a young age.

Throughout his years at the university, he explored sculpture, jewelery making, bronze casting and metal work among others. Kristopher has since been inspired and influenced by "Rembrandt":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rembrandt, "Monet":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Monet, "Dali":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Dal%C3%AD and his all time favorite "Georges Seurat":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_Seurat. He often works in black and white, adding color sparingly.

Today, Kristopher Lake resides in Kitty Hawk NC.
Beach and Bay Influences have begun to show in watercolors, charcoal, and oil paintings.
