Piece description from the artist
In a landscape filled with many waterfalls and cascades, Sol Duc Falls in Olympic National Park, Washington is one of the more unique and strikingly beautiful falls. Flowing through the thick temperate rainforest of the Olympic Mountains the Sol Duc River splits into three branches before hurtling almost 50' off the side of a cliff and thundering down into the narrow moss-covered canyon below. This closely framed vertical image of the falls emphasizes the power and force of the water crashing over the edge to the mossy rocks below.
Brian Kerls is a Colorado landscape photographer whose images of the raw beauty and quiet drama of the world around us are deeply rooted in his life-long love of adventure and exploration. Whether hiking remote trails in the Colorado mountains, chasing golden hour light in the canyons of Utah, exploring urban architecture, or waiting for the sun to set along the Pacific Coast, he seeks out compositions that tell a story and develop a closer connection with the world around us. Known for their rich detail, bold compositions, and immersive quality Brian’s images invite viewers to step into the scene and experience it firsthand.
Inspired by the diverse natural and urban scenes of the American West, Brian’s photography spans the landscapes of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, the Pacific Coast, and a variety of National Parks. His work has been featured in national publications and his fine art landscape photography prints are collected by private buyers, interior designers, and corporate clients across the county.
