Piece description from the artist
Massive fallen boulders and bold orange rock formations create a dramatic setting for this unique waterfall along the Kanarra Falls hiking trail in Kanarraville, Utah, United States. The cascade flows sideways across a series of steeply slanted rocks, creating an unusual contrast with the cold, clear spring-fed water. Afternoon sunlight illuminates the canyon, filling the scene with warm golden tones and bringing out the rich textures and colors of the rock.
Captured during my hike through the frigid 36-degree water of Kanarra Falls Creek, this vertical photograph showcases the rugged beauty and adventurous spirit of the 4-mile roundtrip Kanarra Falls trail. Located within Spring Creek Canyon, the trail winds through dramatic slot-canyon scenery filled with colorful rock formations, massive boulders, flowing water, and unforgettable natural beauty in southern Utah.
