Piece description from the artist
This is of a series of images I captured while traveling through Asia. Thailand has the largest Buddhist population with around 67 million people practicing, making up approximately 95% of its population.
Truth, soul, and unpretentious sophistication characterize the work of artist Simon Kogan.
Born in Russia, he received thirteen years of classical academic training in Moscow, including a M.F.A. as well as an apprenticeship under renowned sculptor "Isaac Brodsky":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaak_Brodsky.
Since immigrating to the U.S. in 1991, he has steadily risen to national prominence as a sculptor, and more recently has branched out to photography. His work reflects a bold, yet poetic pursuit of the archetypal and renders an ethereal quality that resonates with the viewer.
