Standing atop a dune in shadow, I was able to capture the setting sun illuminating the dune below in warm light; creating a contrast between the cool shadows and warm sunlit areas. This was taken at Imperial Dunes in Southern California.
For the first four years of his life, before his family decided to make a home in Florida, Montgomery Gilchrist was raised on a sailboat off the coast Central and South America. As an adult, he taught English in Tokyo for two years then subsequently settled in Manhattan. He is a world traveler and maintains a passionate interest in the ways different people live.
