Piece description from the artist
I captured this photograph while standing beneath part of the arbor at the Gerald R. Ford Birthsite and Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska. Morning sunlight filtered through the structure, casting cool, patterned shadows across the pathway below. This historic site marks the location of the home of President Ford’s paternal grandparents, where he was born in July 1913. Gerald R. Ford went on to become the 38th President of the United States. Beneath the arbor, signs display the names of all U.S. presidents, adding historical context to the peaceful setting. I photographed this scene in the early fall, when the light and atmosphere felt especially calm and reflective.
