This self portrait was painting while I was a assistant painting instructor at an ASU summer painting program for high school students. This portrait is small compared to most of my art. However, it is very expressive and is featured on my blog called "A Sad Painter's Musings" The blog was named after this sad-looking portrait.
Rachel Goede is from Omaha, Nebraska, where she started drawing with pens when she was only one year old.
During high school, she started to paint and went to study in Italy as an exchange student. When Rachel came back to the United States, she attended Arizona State University, where she graduated with a degree in Italian and painting in 2008. Today, Rachel is a full-time mom, a full-time marketer, a full-time artist, and a part-time day-dreamer.
She currently works as a gallery attendant in Scottsdale, Arizona where she can be surrounded by art on a daily basis.
