Piece description from the artist
This image is from a set of photos I captured on Easter morning in Seattle. Seattle is an amazing city to look for cherry blossom trees in bloom during the springtime, particularly during the month of April. This particular image was taken in a surprising location that ended up being full of cherry blossom trees of different varieties. I happened to be there on Easter morning, and this park was very quiet and peaceful with only a few other visitors nearby. Seattle has many homages to Japanese and Asian culture, and the presence of so many cherry blossom trees around the area is one beautiful example.
What I enjoy about this image is not only the soft, pink flower blossoms, but the leading lines and contrast of the sturdy, wood trunk. The brown hues against the bright pinks of the flowers complement each other well.
