This long-exposure photograph captures the rushing waters of Greer Spring near Alton, Missouri, USA, during the vibrant autumn season. Ahead, a rocky bluff is blanketed with brush and colorful trees that frame the scene. While photographing, I encountered a massive nest of Asian Giant Hornets, the largest hornets I had ever seen, which made the experience both thrilling and nerve-wracking. Fortunately, the cool fall temperatures kept them sluggish, allowing me to focus on the beauty of the landscape. Greer Spring is the second-largest natural spring in Missouri, producing an impressive 220 million gallons of water daily. The spring is part of the 4,100-acre Greer Spring Special Management Area, located within the Eleven Point National Scenic River and the Mark Twain National Forest, making it a remarkable destination for nature lovers, and hikers.
