“Running Free” is a composition of a single white/gray horse running forward. I applied many layers of paint and textures for the horse and background using molding paste with palette knives. The final layers of paint are subtle tones of white and warm grays with turquoise and purple for contrast.
The ethereal quality the horse seems to exude is inspirational for this piece, and I love to paint motion. Also, the direct gaze of this horse draws the viewer into the painting.
The natural world and her love for animals inspire Dara Daniel's Acrylic on canvas, mixed-media paintings. She combines bold colors and shapes and lots of textures to create fun, playful interpretations of horses and other animal spirits.
