Piece description from the artist
An intimate view of the cascading waters of Roughlock Falls near Lead, South Dakota, where Little Spearfish Creek tumbles over rugged, moss covered rocks surrounded by lush greenery. From this closer perspective, the rushing water fills more of the scene, revealing the smaller cascades and intricate textures along the creek.
I used a long exposure to give the moving water a soft, silky appearance while keeping the surrounding rocks, moss, and vegetation beautifully detailed. The deep greens and bright white water create a natural contrast that makes this Black Hills waterfall scene come alive.
Standing this close to the flowing creek was an incredible experience. Roughlock Falls is one of the beautiful natural attractions in Spearfish Canyon, and I love how this photograph captures the wild beauty, movement, and refreshing character of Little Spearfish Creek.
