On a trip to Buenos Aires, I spotted a large Banyan Tree in a park across from my hotel. The light was fading so I decided to use a wide-lens to force perspective and exaggerate the root system.
For the first four years of his life, before his family decided to make a home in Florida, Montgomery Gilchrist was raised on a sailboat off the coast Central and South America. As an adult, he taught English in Tokyo for two years then subsequently settled in Manhattan. He is a world traveler and maintains a passionate interest in the ways different people live.
