Revolution

Piece description from the artist

This is a found object assemblage sculpture piece that explores political revolutions and how time can change the perceptions of what is accepted in a given culture. An idea that once was rejected by a given number of citizens, years later may be accepted and celebrated, and vice-versa. Revolutions can be incremental, ideas and actions collecting piece by piece over time until they tower into a chaotic crescendo before leveling off, with the ruins of yesterday in its wake. This piece is made up of objects on canvas such as jewelry, parts of clocks, glass, rope, keys, wooden fans and beads

About Skip Myers

Austin, TX

The artwork of Skip Myers explores the world of dreams, symbolism, mythology, various religious belief systems, the human condition and our shared collective consciousness with all sentient beings. One art critic described him as an oneironaut, or one who explores alternative realities. These works are strongly influenced by personal stories, events from life painted on canvas, filtered through a process of organic abstraction and emotion, and built with vivid color and esoteric symbols.
